The next meeting of the "Illinois Matchbox Collector's Club will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 5:00 PM at the Comfort Inn, 1555 E Fabyan Pkwy, Geneva, IL 60134. This event will be in the Fabyan Hospitality Room at the Comfort Inn during the weekend of the Chicago Toy Show held at the Kane County Fairgrounds in St Charles, Illinois. The Comfort Inn is the main hotel for the Chicago Toy Show where many of the exhibitors stay. Please contact Bob Neumann at neuelectro@email.com or at 630.254.5833 to let us know you are coming.
Tables are available for seliing, trading and displaying toys. Pease contact me if you want to reserve a table. At this time we are offering 1 table per club member. The room will be open at 4:00 PM for club members to set up. Public are invited to come in at 5:00;
We will be serving Pizza and snacks. Cost of food, drinks, and table space will be shared with the club members through our donation bag that we will have out that evening.
Please note that there will be interested buyers at this event.
Our Comfort Inn club functions the weekend of the Chicago Toy Show have been resounding successes and far exceeded our expectations. The events brought in collectors and dealers from all over the country as well as from England, Germany, France, and other countries. At each event there was at least one new collection for sale from those that heard of the event.
Our event will include refreshments, displays of vintage and new "Matchbox" models, a swap meet, raffle door prizes and some surprises. We ask that each club member bring a “Matchbox” product to donate to the raffle. We want to make sure everyone goes home with something new for their collections.
